Way, way more to it than that...
First off, Pedulla doesn't even have enough minutes for his PER to count (he disappears if you tick the qualified box). If you don't tick that box, then John Ojiako is a better player than Justyn Mutts.
Secondly, Murphy's PER is better than Bede's. So we have actually improved our offensive efficiency at the point guard position since last season. If we've improved our offensive efficiency at PG, yet aren't as good as a team, then that means there is another bigger issue.
Murphy has actually passed Alleyne in PER, FWIW.
Our biggest issue, IMO, is that we didn't add a 3 who is in the 6-5 to 6-7 range and is a better athlete than Alleyne. Ideally, Alleyne should be backing up Cattoor at the 2-guard, with a more traditional small forward who can both shoot and rebound playing the 3-spot.
That's where we messed up in the offseason...not filling our roster. We had two open spots and we didn't fill either one of them. Kidd and Haynes not being ready takes it down to nine scholarship players available, and Young doesn't seem to want to play Ojiako either, so that takes it down to 8.
We don't need a 10-man rotation, but nine would be better, and that extra player really should be somebody who can start at the 3-spot.
